I understand that and that is AAPJ's right to have that kind of policy. However, you cannot prevent violence by not allowing people to defend themselves. Especially with guns. If someone who doesnt like your point of view decides to hit, stab or shoot someone at an AAPJ sponsored event? What are they supposed to do? Run?
<< These principles of non-violence apply to all people, regardless of their affiliation (individuals, governmental bodies, or otherwise). So to say that we like "government thugs with guns and UN thugs with guns" would be inaccurate. AAPJ does not believe in the use of violence at all, whether by individuals, groups, states, nations, or others. >>
Again, including times of self defense? Just because someone has a gun does not mean they are violent or condone it. On the contrary they are preventing it. The presence of guns and the potential usage of guns are a deterrent from violence. By having this policy, you give someone who is a violent and would do violence to someone who does dissent on the war of terrorism a blan check to do harm to him or her. This policy needs to be changed to allow for the presence of guns or weapons for the purposes of self defense.
